Support Engineer Intern
The Support Engineer Intern is a part time position for a fourth year or graduate engineering student with a flexible working schedule of 10-20 hours/week. This is a developmental position and may lead to a fulltime position after graduation. To be successful the candidate needs to major in electrical or computer science engineering. The Intern will work in design testing, manufacturing, quality assurance testing and customer technical support.
Responsibilities:
- Assist manufacturing as needed with assembly and test of hardware and software builds.
- Work with the programmers in testing new versions of TumorManager and assist in the customer update process as each new version of TM is released.
- Develop web based training and FAQ tools to ensure customer satisfaction while keeping support demands low.
- Respond to customer support requests by phone and email.
- Work with Marketing to plan and implement effective displays at major scientific meetings (i.e. AACR and AALAS). This includes booth setup and booth duty.
- Work with Product Development to assist in testing new hardware and software versions as they near release.
- Provide customer feedback to marketing and Product Development of all customer feedback including bug identification & resolution plus product enhancements.
- Other duties as assigned with or without accommodation.
Field Support Engineer
Biopticon is seeking a Field Support Engineer responsible for managing external customer as well as internal engineering support activities for our global operations. To be successful the candidate must develop an in-depth knowledge of how our systems are designed and operate in order to meet our customers’ needs. The position is primarily that of a field-service engineer with additional support responsibilities. Field support will entail travel—occasionally international—providing customer training and support, installations, factory-based repair and system assembly, and applications support. The successful candidate will have the ability to engage in customer interaction by phone, in email correspondence and in person in a productive, professional and friendly fashion. This position is based in our Princeton, NJ office and the successful candidate must live within commuting distance.[line-break]

Responsibilities:
- Install TI and TM systems including database and peripheral devices at customer sites. Train users in both hardware and software. Confirm installation and training success and maintain our relationship/contact database to assure ongoing optimal customer experience
- Manage the software and hardware update process as each new version is released. Understand and manage timing and system considerations for individual site upgrades and new software releases
- Develop web-based training and FAQ tools to ensure customer satisfaction. Develop Pareto analysis of system/customer issues, communicating and aligning revised procedures, designs or customer service tools to assure constant improvement
- Respond to customer support requests by phone and email
- Draft, amend and maintain the Field Service SOPs and field service records system
- Prepare and deliver effective, professional Web and live demonstrations of both TM and TI
- Work with Marketing to plan and implement effective displays at major scientific meetings (i.e. AACR and AALAS). This includes booth setup and booth duty
- Provide customer feedback to marketing and Product Development, including bug identification & resolution plus product enhancements
- Assist manufacturing as needed with assembly and test of hardware and software builds
- Manage the corporate website to ensure that it is constantly updated and lead efforts to enhance its functionality particularly in customer support
